Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1958, Fine Artist, Andre Paul Mouton began his journey in art in 1988 with graphite at the Community College of Denver under the tutelage of renowned Denver Artist, Mel Carter. Subsequently, he studied watercolors and pastels. Today, he primarily works in oils.
Andre Mouton's work has earned him numerous awards and accolaids and has enabled him to be juried into countless galleries and cultural centers including the Temple Buell Theater in Denver, the Las Vegas Art Museum, the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the Louisiana Art Guild, the Center for Creative Arts Therapy in Denver, the Enigma Gallery in Littleton, Colorado, The Boulder City, Nevada Library, the Emmanuel Gallery in Denver, the Off Center Gallery in Arvada, Colorado and the Capitol Hill Arts Association in Denver.
Mouton founded both the Las Vegas Artist Guild, in Las Vegas, Nevada and The Art Guild in Denver. The Las Vegas Artist Guild has grown to well over 150 members and is very active in promoting Fine Arts in the state of Nevada. Andre Mouton appeared on the television program AM Southern Nevada on KVVU/FOX 5 TV in Las Vegas where he discussed his art and the formation of the Vegas Art Guild.
Andre Mouton presently creates oils of Southwestern Landscapes, Wildlife, Southwestern Architecture, and Portraits. He is available to do commission work and for consultation on the formation of artist organizations.
